Kathryn Welcome Egli grew up in Welcome Minnesota, the town named after her paternal grandfather, Alfred Welcome.  Since childhood, she has always had an interest and affinity for art—especially abstract art.  Kathryn later moved to Southern California and resumed her art studies at The Palos Verdes Art Center where she now attends workshops.           

Kathryn has received many awards and honorable mentions for her diverse portfolio. Her most recent award was a first place in the Palos Verdes Art Center Juried Holiday Exhibition for her mixed media Autumn, Nature & La Casa. Over the years Kathryn’s work has been shown throughout the Southern California South Bay Beach Cities.  Kathryn had a private show of her abstract paintings at the Bergmont Station in Santa Monica, California.  She also had a solo show at The Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center. 

Regarding abstract art forms Kathryn is guided by the conviction that abstract painting provides a means of expressing the dreams of the spirit. 

Kathryn continues her artistic work in multimedia paintings. She is an avid outdoor enthusiast and has traveled extensively throughout the U.S., Australia, New Zealand and Europe.  Kathryn resides in Southern California.
